Soon By You is a new comedy web series about 6 young Orthodox Jews living the single life in NYC: think “Friends” meets “Srugim”. The pilot episode “The Setup” was an official selection of the New Filmmakers Film Festival in NY and the Washington Jewish Film Festival, among others.

CAST/CREW

Leah Gottfried  (Director, Sarah Jacobs) started acting at an early age in various films, commercials and stage productions. She has appeared in Yamaha ATV and Time Warner Cable commercials, the TV show Distant Roads and the feature film Operation: Candlelight. Stage credits include Brighton Beach Memoirs (Nora), Lost in Yonkers (Gert) and The Government Inspector (Anna).

At age 17, Leah explored a newfound interest of working behind the scenes and wrote and directed her first short film. Since then Leah has produced the feature film Operation: Candlelight and founded Dignity Entertainment, a production company dedicated to creating meaningful visual content.

Leah studied film and theatre arts at Stern College, cinematography at NYU and acting at The Actors Circle in Los Angeles.

Danny Hoffman (Co-producer, David) is an actor, director, and producer with a degree in Drama from Yeshiva University, and has studied the Meisner Technique of acting at the William Esper Studio in New York. His acting credits include: On Stage: Next To Normal (Dan), Sweeny Todd (Anthony), Into the Woods (Baker), and Of Mice and Men (Lenny). On Screen, he has appeared in numerous short films and promotional videos, and held a featured role on a web series. He has directed numerous student productions, including A Few Good Men and Our Town. He has taught acting and improv at Black Box Studios in New Jersey, and continually consults on theatrical productions at Yeshiva University.

Jessica Schechter (Co-producer, Noa) is an NYU graduate and holds an MFA in Directing from the Actors Studio Drama School and a Bachelors degree in Educational Theatre with a double minor in Dramatic Literature and Studio Art.   Trained through Stanislavsky and Meisner techniques, Jessica’s directing credits include Mend the Envelope (Midtown International Theater Festival), The Settler (24/6 Theater Co.) Fires in the Mirror (ASDS Repertory), Gruesome Playground Injuries (ASDS Repertory) among others.

Acting credits include Uncle Vanya (Nanny),The Pavilion (Kari) Lou Gehrig Did Not Die of Cancer (Barbara), The Heidi Chronicles (Heidi), The Autumn Garden (Sophie), Through the Eyes of a Friend (Sarah), Kindertransport (Eva), Father of the Bride (Peggy Swift), Up The Down Staircase (Miss Barrett), The Music Man (Marian), and The Diary of Anne Frank (Anne). JarrodJarrod Hurwitz (Cinematographer) graduated in 2006, after a 4 year honors program from AFDA (South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance) where he learned the craft of making great films, specializing in Cinematography and Film Editing.

Over the past ten years, Jarrod has shot, edited, lit, produced, created, written, and directed a multitude of media content in a variety of film and digital formats. Jarrod’s passion is shooting and directing narrative work, primarily features and music videos, and applies his film discipline to all projects he produces. Currently, he operates out of Clifton, New Jersey at the helm of his own production company, Jahu Films (www.jahufilms.com).

Noam HararyNoam Harary (Z) hails from an exotic place, where blue of the sky and the water blend as they kiss the white sand of the Jersey Shore and the people are 50 shades of orange.

Recent credits: Trapper at The Fourth Street Theater of NYTW (Todd),  the lead of Lobby Hero at Roy Arias Theater (Jeff), Sabra at the Manhattan Theater Source (Ben), Dear Darkness at The New Ohio Theater (MC), Brecht’s The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui at Lerner Hall (Ernesto Roma). Noam’s film credits include co-starring with the late Ryan Dunn in Living Will, a surviving character of the slasher Nobody Gets Out Alive, and Heaven is Waiting, acclaimed at the Cannes Festival. Sara Scur (Sarah Feldman) originally from Maryland, always had a passion for film, which drove her to move New York five years ago to pursue acting. Sara graduated from the New York Conservatory for Dramatic arts and since then has been pursuing acting full time. Before meeting Leah, Sara has worked on a few short films, and is excited to continue this project!

Nathan Shapiro (Ben)  is an actor, co-producer of upcoming feature film Scenes From The Underground, and a founding partner of First Circle LLC.  Nathan is a graduate of The William Esper Studio in New York. Past film credits include Good Dads (dir. Christian Stayton) and Scrapper (dir. Brady Hall, starring Michael Beach, Aidan Gillen), as well as numerous short films and pilots. Meir Kalmanson (Moe) knew from a young age that he loved to make people smile and feel good. Not to long after he found comfort and ease on the stage, performing for hundreds and even thousands of people. After backpacking for 2 years, and at 22 years old he returned to pursue his dream of acting and directing. 

He started his own production company called AMK Productions and started to build his YouTube channel called Meir KayHe posted High Five New York which was Meir high five-ing New Yorkers while they’re hailing for taxis. The video to date has reached over 2 million views on YouTube and was featured in countless websites and TV shows. From there he went on to produce viral video and viral video with the intention to spread positivity and happiness.
